That's a fair question, but the Administration deserves more of the blame.

Drawing a line in the sand that was not needed and that accomplished nothing was short sighted and inflicted self-harm. Good leadership would have handled the situation much, much better even if Wade had the same position.

LSU should have been working to eliminate the concerns Wade had. It should have been "assuring" Wade that the meeting was basically a formality. It should have done so because it was in LSU's best interest.

Furthermore, openly speaking poorly about Wade in the media, insinuating dishonesty was just plain retarded.

In the end, Wade probably could have made a better decision if he were advised by someone who know the NCAA better. But, the Admin's failure to show leadership and manage this crisis was much, much worse than Wade's decision.

That makes more sense when first dropped in October. I would think they did talk back in October and were surprised by March’s released transcript. With what was said in 2nd release & its increased implications you cannot just tell someone it’s a formality. Even if they wanted to just look the other way I am certain they would have wanted some assurances on second go around of reports that there was nothing worse was in remaining and nothing could be proven. If it wasn’t about a recruit answering would have been easy. If it was about a recruit I would think one might need some time & another lawyer to work on response to fit what was needed.

I think both the AD and Wade could have handled it better. Acting like Wade had nothing to do with situation is more motivated by his success & without it people here would be a little more balanced in viewing his actions.

Hopefully with extra attention probably put on Wade including other teams trying to use stuff against him and with O’s guarantee the compliance department will not be weakened by factions taking advantage of Alleva being weak.
