My cousins and I used to pick strawberries until we were all raw and pink to the elbows and knees. Uncle Dudley had one "hook" plastic arm after some accident, always freaked me out. If Ponchatoula isn't the strawberry capitol of the world my whole life is a lie LOL.

I'm absolutely sure they still grow the berries there. The plants look like squash, not obvious strawberries.

less than 300 acres cultivated this year according to the paper
unfortunately it’s dying out

too many subdivisions and too few field pickers
