I'm not hiding anything. I realize I contradicted myself with that statement but I didnt tell the whole story because I didnt think I had to.
Both of us are in our 40s with grown children. She went up to her hometown in OK. because her mother fell ill. Her dad has had alzheimers for a fee years and the mother took care of him. Its looking like both will have to go to assisted living. At the time my gf was the only one there (she drove the 10 hours by herself up there immediately) with them caring for her Dad. Her brother showed up 4 days later. They both found the guns and came to the decision that she would take them here to Louisiana. So she did. A week later the brother wants her to drive back to OK for the sole purpose of returning the guns to him.

Dont get me wrong. I wouldn't mind the S&W 357 but I really dont need it. I was asking about means to sell the guns and maybe give that info to my girlfriend and hopefully her brother think it a good idea to just let us sell them for him and send him the money.
Was just looking for an alternative possibility to her driving them back up there to him just for him to sell them.

The OB is a great board. However, sometimes I wonder if I’m the smartest fool here...

Quit complaining, this isn’t your family so stay out of it. If you were married and had a child with her you might have some say, but even then I would personally stay out of it unless the family wanted my family to have them.

An alternative option would be ship them back to the rightful owner. You could even do an FFL transfer to be 100% legal. Let him pay the $15-50 transfer fee and be done with it.

Though, it’s clear you created the OP just to sell this property you have no claim too. You say you have a book that has gun values I am sure you are aware of the typical ways to market and sell used guns.

Don't get US wrong. In my opinion you've been given the correct advice from SEVERAL members on here. These aren't YOUR guns to make any decisions about. Whether you like it or not, your GF's brother has power-of-atty and whatever he decides is to be done should be done. However, he cannot demand that your GF DRIVE the guns back. Have her tell him that if he wants them back then he needs to arrange shipping and transfers or pay for the gas and time for her to drive them back.

If she talks to him and he accepts terms for her to sell them down here and then send him the money, then that's just as fine an outcome.

You or her selling the guns without his or the parents' permission is completely illegal and could get you and/or her in a whole lot of legal trouble if done.

I recommend you listen to what a bunch of us have told you and do the right thing.

OK, all kidding aside, you reeeaaally need to give those guns to the brother. FedEx them, it happens everyday. UPS is dropping off my new rifle this afternoon FWIW.

As Cave alluded to earlier, that brother can now say you sold property that wasn't yours....very illegal when it comes to guns.
