You do realize you can get to LSU without getting on I110/I10

He said he was coming from Lafayette. This has to be a troll.

Sunshine bridge

100 miles out of the way

Plaquemine ferry

50 miles out of the way, plus you have to take back roads through Gross Tete unless you want to fight bridge traffic, plus the time it takes to actually get across the river
quote:

Audubon bridge

Probably the most reasonable of the options. 60 miles out of the way, so only twice as far as driving from Lafayette to BR on the interstate or 190...

Nope...IMO, there is no reason at all that LSU atheletics should have anything at all to do with such civil/political matters and vice versa.

There will never be a new bridge without the state gas tax being adjusted for inflation since the last time it was raised 40 years ago.

Write that down, because its the truth. We all know that our State Government has a history of misappropriating taxes, but there will NEVER be a new bridge without that tax.

If coming from the West take the old bridge you can easily navigate to LSU without seeing 110 may take some time but you will be moving. Personally Id rather be moving then sitting in traffic.

Simple solution....... Put a damn bridge in where the ferry is. Simply bypass BR completely, and can hit River Road to get to LSU facilities. An improved road straight down from Lobdell can get this done easily. Straight shot to I-12 also. Makes us West of the river get to NO easier

I share the frustration of traveling to BR from West of the river especially on Fridays. However, I don't think it would be appropriate for LSU to be involved in anyway regarding the building of a new bridge beyond agreeing that it would be beneficial to have one.

I live west of the river. I've had LSU Baseball season tickets for 34 years. I don't let the I-10 bridge backup keep me from going to games. I use the old bridge (US 190), I-110-S to the Govt. St. exit and then River Road to the Box. If I-110-S has any degree of backup in the downtown area, I exit I-110-S at the Chippewa St. exit and use 4 laned Chippewa St. to River Road past downtown and on to the stadium. Changing your route to the Old Bridge (US 190) and then the using the logistics described above once in BR should add approximately 10-15mins. to your drive time for the extra miles and do wonders for your disposition.

Th City and the economy need a wider bridge or a second bridge. This is probably as important detraction to our city as the small town airport.

Having liv d away from my BTR home for 20 years. Recently back.. and traveled a great deal. Business people when coming to BTR are turned off by the small airport and the at best unattractive ride in from the airport.

Yes LSU would benefit from a new bridge.
