I was offshore when Bama beat us 21-0. The driller was a Bama fan. That was a shitty fricking night.

Don’t be aggravating, some dudes don’t want to talk to you, no offense
Clean up after yourself, especially in the head
When you ask questions, listen to the answers, don’t interrupt, they hate that shite
Get up early, get moving, don’t drag arse
Go to bed early and enjoy your sleep, you are gonna need it
Try to do some cardio, breaks up the monotony
Watch what you eat
DONT PISS OVER THE RAIL, some like to rat you out for the drama
never know when a woman is around the corner, so keep your head on a swivel
Treat the galley hands with respect, they bust their arse
Enjoy the beauty of it, go up on the helideck and take in the view
If they allow fishing, Get to know the fishermen, they are the coolest

How long is the typical stay?
Posted on 4/24/19 at 9:09 pm to LeroyBrown
I know the guys that work for the company that actually owns and runs the drill ship work 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off. A lot of companies for 2/2 but 3rd party companies kind of just work the duration of the job, so it depends.

Rig crew, operator personnel (ie company men) is two weeks. Service hands work anywhere from a few days to a few months. Typically
