People may disagree, but I want him to get real stout.

Like 225 lbs. I think he can add 25 more by Fall 2020.

But yeah, the hype will be real, especially if he plays garbage minutes this year and looks great.

Of what? The spring game?

The spring game is telling of nothing.

He looked better than burrow for the spring game.

I think there will be more questions than hype

Exactly. I’m not saying the kid can’t be serviceable. But he won’t be anything spectacular that will warrant hype. We didn’t go get Burrow because brennan is a stud in waiting.

I'm looking at twitter post and articles about him now and I know next year will be insane (in a good way).
He definitely looked the better of the 2 at the SG. Knowing now that Joe had shoulder issues, though

Unless I see him do some pretty good stuff in his back up duties this season, I will not be "hyped" about him next spring. I gave up doing that kind of stuff a long arse time ago.

I get being burned by LSU QBs before, but we're in territory we haven't been for a very long time. Two QBs who can compete and some coaching stability and acumen.

You simply cannot underestimate how important it is that Brennan has been in the system for as long as he has going into next year. It's something we haven't had in a very long time.

If that kid finds a way to put on just 10 more lbs he'll be a fricking superstar here.
his weight is just an excuse. Weight has nothing to do with his ability to throw the ball, read defenses, ability to check down, pocket presence, accuracy, leadership, etc. None of those are affected by weight.

We’ll see how it plays out. I just don’t think that kid has what it takes to be a good SEC qb.
this is correct.

The stars were aligned for Brennan to take the starting job last year, and he couldn't do it, and the coaches immediately ran out after spring practice seeking a transfer.

Now sure, Brennan can improve. But I think that improvement will be marginal, not transformative.

Usually if a player has "it", they show it quickly. That hasn't occurred with Brennan.

Did you see jamarcus Russell early at lsu?
He couldn't beat out marcus Randal.
Did you see mett early? He has Anthony jennings type season.
Did you see Matt Flynn early?

CFB is littered with good qbs that didnt have the mythical IT factor early.

I never said otherwise, Rick.

I said usually, but not always, if a guy has it, they show it early.

After seeing Brennan for a couple years now (albeit a limited sample size), I just don't think we're going to see it. Just my hunch. Hope I'm wrong and he blows up and dominates in 2020, but I'm just not expecting it.

You’re crazy if you think Myles can get to 225. If hevwete to get that big it would be in bad weight. His frame just isn’t built for much weight but he can still be good without being 230. Alex Smith was the same way coming out of college and still to this day he’s not more than 210-215. If Brennan can get himself to 210 of muscle then he will be good to go. That being said people need to pump the brakes after watching the spring game. I think Myles will be a good starting qb for us next year but you can’t tell anything in these type of scrimmages besides the fact that he has an incredible arm but we already knew that.

I'm still waiting to see how Brennan reacts after being sacked hard, didn't see that in the scrimmage. Burrow is a fkg warrior, is Brennan? We will see.

In a spring game with a number of defensive players out.

We’ve seen this before.

The spring game means less than jack shite.

This is not to say he will never start or be successful. But it’s idiotic to take anything good or bad from the spring game.

Literally the only think that matters is not getting people injured.

And what happens if Ensminger shits the bed again this year and decides to “retire”.

Hell I dont care about the coaching stability when the offensive coaching has been so bad.
