didn't say it wasn't "legit". I'm just glad you have pivoted from does he make money to how much money does he make. His end game as a resort owner is for that resort to make money. I'd be interested to see how mar a lagos numbers have changed, if any, since becoming potus.

I asked you for specifics. Now you admit you have none. Typical.

one room for don from queens and a separate room for melania and barron is a tiny fraction of the cost

That never happened, and I'm not glad you think it did.

Money is fungible.
Businessmen who have, maybe 100's of peripheral business expenses, cannot have any particular dollar amounts related any specific transaction over the period of a year.

Of course it is. Are the taxpayers being charged more or less than they would had trump gone elsewhere?

So how do we know he's not paying for this with his own money?

do not believe this is correct. My understanding is that he donates his salary to a different charity every quarter.

Very commendable, but the money still comes from governmental coffers.
Not to a charity, but a different government agency.

In February 2019, a new Government Accountability Office (GAO) report said that federal agencies incurred costs of about $13.6 million for the president's four trips to Mar-a-Lago from February 3 through March 5, 2017.

For reference, it cost $8 million for Obama to go to Hawaii for 17 days over Christmas 2013. (He took similar trips every year he was in office)

LINK

quote:

This week we received expense recordsfrom the Department of Homeland Security revealing that Secret Service expenses for the Obama family vacation to Honolulu during December 2013-January 2014 cost taxpayers at least $316,698.03.  These new expense records bring the total for the Hawaii Christmas vacation trip to $8,098,060.33.

quote:

The heavily redacted records were in response to a January 6, 2014, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.  According to the records:

$91,751.78 in car rental expenses were paid

$224,974.05 in accommodation expenses were paid to Cabana Girl, LLC and Paradise Luxury Rentals

quote:

In March 2014, Judicial Watch released flight expense records from the U.S. Department of the Air Force revealing that for the 2013 Hawaii vacation the Obamas incurred $7,781,361.30 in flight expenses alone (36.9 hours at $210,877 an hour).

quote:

Last month, Judicial Watch separately sued the Department of Homeland Security for ignoring 19 other FOIA requests.  The FOIA lawsuit asks the court to enjoin the Secret Service from continuing to withhold responsive documents from Judicial Watch. The known total expense to the American taxpayers thus far for all Obama travel is now $70,880,035.78.

I don't recall the MSM giving two shits about any of those expenses.

So Trump is not getting all that money?
No. It is being shared amongst all the shareholders in the Trump Organization. I understand that DJT is (by far) the largest shareholder.
