Also, a single day max attendance is 160,000 at jazz fest
The stones day sold out at an elevated ticket price of $200 per ticket
So this is $32,000,000 they are going to have to refund
Even if they just go to the normal ticket price of $85 for that day and still sell out that’s an $18,500,000 loss

But that’s with the entire Fest open. On Rolling Stones day all stages were going to shut down at 4pm except the Acura stage. I can’t imagine they sold 160,000 tickets. If I had to listen standing around the Gentilly stage I’d be pissed.

The stones day had limited tickets. They were the only band playing after 4 so all people would go to that stage so they may have sold 50 to 60 thousand tickets
Now the issue will be will the organizers be able to fill all those empty stages with decent acts. Or will they announce some other big headliner

In addition to the limited tickets as others mentioned, You are forgetting that the fest doesn’t have to pay the stones now either. That was a lot of money
