Can we at least let him complete two straight years of underachieving seasons before we say this? They were in the championship series two years ago and were national seeds for 6 straight seasons.

I seem to remember that ending with our best pitcher keeping the bench warm and a total collapse of our hitting (a dishearteningly common theme).
And “National Seed!” may help with recruiting, but it’s the ultimate participation trophy for a program with LSU’s history.
That said, with whom would we replace CPM? He’s still one of the better coaches out there and our ability to acquire another National Championship coach is going to be severely hindered with Alleva as AD and with a downright lethargic pace of baseball facility improvements.

Being a national seed is such a fricking mediocre thing to brag about. It’s the baseball equivalent of pumping up preseason top 25 in football. Has LSU baseball really fallen this far?
