The opposite is true. Smollett is a "hero" because he hates Trump, so getting him off the hook by any means necessary plays right into what most leftist blacks want.

He's black, the race card trumps all (no pun intended). The community will most likely look at this as a win. Why wouldn't they? It also gives the Dems a great recruiting tool. You don't want to get in trouble for crimes everyone else does? Be a leftist political activist.
