Dallas people have shitty tastes. People who like good crawfish just do it at home.

No one wants to go and regularly buy $7+ per pound crawfish when you can make it at home for much cheaper.

They sell live too. Much cheaper than capt Dave and some of the other guys.

They're just too far.

I've got a hookup with Dave for live. Heads or tails has great prices though.

Jesus the dusted seasoning makes it look like it's covered in sand...

When we lived in Houston, it was the same way. I don't know if it's intentional or just never have experienced things cooked the right way.

I know of few restaurants that have consistently produced excellent Cajun food, especially crawfish dishes. Certainly, none outside of south Louisiana. And, nearly all restaurant boiled crawfish seems expensive to me, because our family farmed rice, soybeans, and crawfish in Vermillion Parish.

I’ll definitely try the Heads or Tails place in Fort Worth, as I don’t mind driving for good boiled crawfish.

Bump.

Went to a place in Arlington tonight called Bayou Cat. Extremely well done crawfish. Great size, cooked perfectly, and all the seasoning on the inside. Plus at $5.99/lb, they're by far the cheapest in DFW too.

Met the owner, nice guy out of NOLA east who went to LSU. The place is basically around the corner from cowboys stadium and has saints stuff all over.

This place was very much on par with what you'd expect from a good crawfish place in Louisiana.
