First of all, the dog-and-pony-show aspect of the presidency has been a reality for a very long time, and it’s only gotten worse over the past few decades thanks to t.v. and the 24 hour news cycle. And now we have social media to amp it up even more.

Secondly, the cult of personality culture, as I prefer to call it, is demonstrably much worse on the left than on the right. I think that the election of Trump was a way for the right to engage the left using some of their own tactics.

Third, you are blind, either willfully or because you’re misinformed by only consuming legacy left-leaning news outlets, if you perceive that Trump has no policy agenda. The man may not articulate his policy as effectively as a more polished speaker, but it’s very apparent.
