Spacetime isn’t expanding into anything. It’s just expanding.

Is anything there before spacerime arrives?

This fascinates me.

No, and it's hard to fathom. There is so much that we don't understand...like dark energy and dark matter. We know that it has to exist, but we don't know what it is.

According to Eternal Inflation Theory, most probably. EIT indicates that our Universe is part of a Multiverse, most of which is forever expanding.

Our spacetime began when we budded off from another universe via the Big Bang. We appear to be in a region that will eventually expand into oblivion, given the known nature of our physics.

When considering inflation, actually all of science in general, it’s best to avoid the idea of nothingness. Substitute “that which is not yet detectable” for the term “nothing.” That’s the only way it will make sense to us, given the way our reasoning is structured.
