Under Louisiana's Rules of Professional Conduct, an attorney who knows that another party is represented by counsel is strictly prohibited from contacting the opposing party directly. LSU is Barton's client. Wade's attorney knows that Barton is representing LSU. Yet, Wade's attorney contacts LSU directly. Wade's attorney could get disbarred for this conduct.

What a joke. These Neanderthals constantly embarrass LSU every chance they get but could get a lawyer disbarred over a 1 sentence email? This would make me want to break all support to LSU until every single one of these clowns are gone. They are a complete disgrace to LSU and their profession.

Wade’s lawyer is in New York I believe

I doubt he is overly concerned with Louisiana Bar discipline

Without a history of misconduct and a warning etc that would never happen.

This state has an attorney on contract with at least one public board who was put in jail for committing a felony associated with major public corruption. If that guy can get his license reinstated, even suggesting disbarment for this is laughable.

Lolz

No. At worst he would get an admonition. That's even assuming this was found to be a violation of 4.2. Which is questionable considering there is no pending "matter".

Stop the nonsense

The email copied the attorneys representing LSU

That’s right the email had the lsu attorney basically present and in the room

If you follow the opinion of one Bob Barton you have to then suggest that if they were on a conference call or in a room all together that an attorney could not inform directly by looking straight at Joe Alleva and saying something to him.

It is petty at best and comical at worse and certainly not unethical. The intent is to make sure the party has its representation present . They dont have to be the only one that can hear.
