Why publicly deny wrongdoing when the NCAA hasn't come out and said they think he's done something wrong?

Has anyone actually accused Wade of anything directly? NCAA, LSU, or DOJ?

The press doesn't count, they do not have police power or enforcement power/responsibility.

LSU has implied by demanding a denial... but implied doesn't cut it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the request was for a private meeting, not a public statement. The public statement about not denying wrongdoing was a response to Wade's public statement.

No one here knows what the NCAA is saying to the admins/compliance departments.

Huh?

They didn't ask Will Wade to go public with any denials. They want to meet with him and hear him deny the allegations.

He''l never coach at LSU again, nor should he very obviously, so I don't know why we need to continue this mess, just fire him and be done with it.

The dude can cite a pending investigation all he wants and I'm sure that's the best thing for him to do legally, but when an allegation like that comes out, and that coach can't meet with the school at all, much less deny the reports....then yea, he doesn't need to be coaching at this school.
