Yea 8 gives everyone a chance to get a shot back before facing 10 tough holes

Could be mixed up but Didn’t they flip flop the 9’s a few years ago? Before they built the new clubhouse

I have considered joining for about a year now. I don't know how much I would get to play but my wife and kids would use the pool very often during the summer. How is the membership out there?
I do not hate the course as much as Johnny Lawrence, however I do wish they would do something with 18. As previously stated, the fact that it is 18 just leaves a bad taste to finish. If it was number 4 it wouldn't be as bad a whole IMO. Minus one round late last summer, I have never been dissapointed with the conditions of the course. Hopefully the weather will break and they can get it back to the quality shape is usually is.

Let me help you out some:

Geez, it's like your parents didn't pay quality American dollars for your education.
But in all seriousness, I'm not a fan of the course, but it's personal preference. I don't like 4 or a couple of the other holes, but it would be palatable if 18 was a fun, 2 shot, risk-reward hole. 9 was a great finishing hole, but 10 was a terrible 1st hole.

9 is one of the best holes in the BR area IMO

We enjoy our membership. My son is young and plays often with me and swims. I get out to play every weekend and some weekday afternoons especially now that the time has changed. Really good mix of members: young and old. And lots of different weekly/daily games to jump in. Everyone is very welcoming. Chris, Cody and Daniel do a great job with listening to the members and putting together tournaments. Food is pretty good too.

From a business standpoint, I think they should flip the 9's again. While I understand 10 is a tough starting hole, most folks "hit 2" from the tee, so you have 2 chances of hitting the fairway. 18 is just brutal and in my opinion, poorly designed. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth of people who aren't familiar with it. 9 would be a better finishing hole. It's risk/reward for longer hitters.

Some people only hit 2 depending on the group rules and/or conditions. It’s certainly a shite place to start in tournaments.
And speaking of business, it’s the whole reason things were swapped. If you start on 10, you can go straight to 1 from 18 without going near the clubhouse. That’s a lot of money lost from people who would otherwise grab a drink or snack at the turn.

Greystone just aerated the greens so it will probably be a few weeks before they are back to normal.

Played there Wednesday. The greens are terrible. Like putting on the beach terrible. They over-seeded, verti-cut, punched and sanded all in the same day. It's bad... And the greens are normally the best part of the course. Unfortunately, I don't think it's the staff's fault. It's been a swamp for 4 months. I hope they get them back to normal but I have a suspicion that they may loose 13 and 15. Hope I'm wrong because they guys there are great. There is only so much you can do with a course that's been a mud hole for 4 months.

What do you expect two days after that much maintenance at once?

Greystone is what happens when you try to stick a golf course in an area without enough property.
They obviously tried to cram these holes in when they realized they ran out of real estate.

It’s over 7000 yards with few holes where the greens are right next to the next tee and plenty of space for water and trees. What’s your point?

My point is the holes are too narrow because they didn't have enough real estate.
Anything else you need me to explain to you?

Too narrow?
How wide does your swing need them to be?
