If you don’t get your son a Rawlings Pro Preferred, you don’t love him. And he probably doesn’t make the Team Gameface travel ball team.

Nokona is a good off brand, but I've always used Rawlings Gold Glove (and the comparable newer models).

Looks floppy and heavy like a Nokona.

Just get him a Heart of the Hide and be done with it.

It'll 100% last him through high school.

My son has a nice Easton series mitt as do I.

Shoeless Joe's series is better than the mittless Joe line..

Nokona looks nice as well....decisions, decisions.

I think we are still going with the Rawlings HOH.

He has always used walmart model Rawlings but I told him once he started plying HS ball we would look into upgrading.

Will the Gray laces be ok while pitching in Louisiana High School Rules?

I’m sure it won’t be a big deal unless you have Mr Bible behind the plate, but I don’t think there’s supposed to be gray or white on the gloves at all. I know if you’re pitching, you can’t have white or gray sleeves on

My kid is a utility guy. He likes his Rawlings gloves, 11.5 and 12.75. He uses an A2000 catchers mitt. Go figure. Get a quality glove that you kid likes, you will be fine.

I’ve had the same Rawlings heart of the hide glove since 1998. Used it playing center field growing up but is now a fine slow pitch softball infield glove. I don’t know all the nuances of the Rawlings series but my old man used his high school glove all the way through my high school years catching and throwing in the yard. I know the A2000’s are nice and would consider one but I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Rawlings.
