F King isn't knocking it out of the park on the academic side either.

A good Univ Prez should take interest in all the university's activities.

They have to balance both. Everybody knows that division 1 football pays for the whole show. Any sport that is televised brings in revenue that can be shared amongst the departments and apply towards expenses .... The most successful schools are the ones that realize how important division one football is because of TV. They work closely with their state governor to be on the same page. That’s winning.

If your athletic department donates millions of dollars to your school that you can’t find a way to run without increasing tuition and doing nothing to improve the academics but continue to slash and burn departments... yes you should care.

A great Athletic program can bring in a lot of money to the academic side. F king is either a retard or doesn’t care to understand this.

No, but how about hiring an AD and letting them have the final say without constantly meddling when you want to use athletics for whatever “optics” of the day?

By holding this opinion, you prove your lack of intelligence. Academics are the reason for the university, no doubt. However, in modern times, to not recognize the importance of visibility to the university that a competitive athletics program provides is idiotic.

We should go for any president who is all in on sports and doesn’t care about improving academics, right?

LOL! Just wondering how many idiots are going to down vote you for asking the question.

The sad truth is the consensus will be "Hell Yeah LSU's AD should care more about sports, not all.... just 99% sports and %1 academic center to support the "student" athletes." It's why Louisiana ranks at or near the bottom of most education metrics. But we're a top 10 football program!

Honestly, do you hold the opinion that an LSU president should care more about Athletics?

well it's not like our President cares about academics

our holistic admissions and cratering USNW rankings prove that
