Hess is talented but playing bad ground breaking stuff, i tell you

I've barely watched a game all year and I could've told you this based solely off reading this board.

4. Hilliard/Walker needs to be the Friday night guy.

Walkers fastball was in the mid 80s this weekend. Hilliard ain't ready either.

And apparently, recognizing this stuff qualifies you to be the head baseball coach at LSU, according to the rant.

but for the whole staff to be all former players it's a bit much.
If that was the case, I'd agree with you.

Alan Dunn has never played for Mainieri.

I really can't understand why Mainieri has Hess in the starting rotation. It made sense last year to a degree with the Walker injury and a lack of options, but we have more options this year.

I’m surprised you’re confused about this. It’s perfectly obvious, and if you haven’t figured it out you could have read it on here in any one of 50 threads. Probably Hess is starting because he had the option of going pro last year. CPM talked him into staying. Along with that came a promise of getting an extended look at being the Friday night starter.

At the beginning of the season CPM said Hess was our Friday guy for the duration of the season. Now he’s saying we’re running out of time for Hess to get it together.

"but our hitting hasn't really been an issue when you look at the big picture so far".. Played 1 ranked team & hit .161, so the big picture is feasting on the military schools & schools from the NE that can't even practice outdoors till April.

Todd Walker has been a guest and a regular on Fletcher’s show for years . He has a great baseball mind and is very knowledgeable about the game from high school through pro baseball.
He would be a tremendous asset to any program anywhere .

Where are the Maineri minions defending Hess being a starter instead of closing which is is obviously more suited for

So a 3 game series is a better indication than the entire season? You really think we are going to hit .161 against every good team we play?

Walker was head coach at Calvary Baptist in Shreveport and he didn't do well at all. He constantly came on Fletcher's show and threw those kids under the bus. Let's limit him to hitting coach.

Don't get me wrong, Walker is the best pure hitter I've ever seen. He would do a better job than Owchinko(sic). Now, pitching...17 strikeouts are great but 6 walks sucks! Plus, before last night, LSU catchers have thrown out 1 basestealer in 23. Pitchers aren't holding them close. Mechanics!!

It is closer to reality than the numbers they threw up against weak competition to date. Not saying they won't turn it around, cause I believe they will be in the hunt come may but the bats are an issue right now IMO

Oh ok. I got you now. They suck, and need to fire their hitting coach, but they will turn it around and compete for a national title. You are that type of idiot. Got it.

It was the same thing when Javi was here and they struggled so much on offense.

Javi years as LSU hitting coach

09- .315 National Champions
10- .319 Regional
11- .303 Missed postseason
12- .285 Supers
13- .305 Omaha
14- .287 Regional

Thats his years, team average, and the team finish. Man those were some awful hitting teams who really struggled.
