Looking for recommendations for local favourite restaurants, with an emphasis on authentic.
Do you mind driving 30-40 minutes from Broussard/Lafayette?
Authentic .. hard to beat Suire's for the Turtle sauce piquante, crawfish etoufee', and other Cajun food dishes.
Located on Hwy 35 in Kaplan, LA … it's a 35-40 min drive from LeTriomphe
Residing in Nova Scotia, are you French or have any Cajun relatives ? Perhaps a visit to the Acadian Memorial may interest you on the history of the 3,000 Acadian men, women and children who found refuge in Louisiana after British forces exiled them from Acadie.
Glenda's Creole Kitchen (located in Breaux Bridge) is 20 minutes from the Acadian Memorial museum in St.Martinville.
Both restaurants are "hole-in-the-wall" places that cook true Cajun / Creole food like they did many moons ago. Meals will cost you $10 - $15 with a sweet tea
