I haven’t been camping since I was a kid but looking to get back into it. Want to go somewhere over Memorial Day weekend, do y’all have any recommendations on the best campgrounds for tents? Somewhere with bathrooms that have showers for the ladies would be preferred. TIA

Stuart Lake Campground just north of Alexandria. Can't remember if they have showers but I know they have bathrooms with running water.

Go to Noth Arkansas. Will be too hot in Louisiana to tent camp in late May.

Indian Creek in Woodworth is one of our favorites (wife and 5 year old daughter)
As well as clear springs recreational area near Roxie, MS

If you're willing to drive 10 hours Black Mountain Campground in North Carolina. LINKHot showers, nice weather, mountains, stream, awesome camping spots and hiking trails to two nearby waterfalls.
The drive there is awesome. We took the Blue Ridge Parkway from Asheville.

Going on a holiday weekend at the start of summer vacation period = glutton for punishment. Ugh.

Pretty much any State Park is going to have good camping spots with all the amenities, also hiking and boating activities and what not. My favorites are Chicot, Bogue Chitto, Fontainebleau, and Lake Fosse Point if you're around the BR area. Also Kisatchie National Forest has tons of camping. A specific spot that I know has the amenities is the Lake Kincaid Recreational Area.
