Is it really necessary to see my doctor every 3 months to get an Adderall refill?

I recently got a new doctor after my old one retired. Before, I had to come every 6 months. I'm literally in the office no more than 3 minutes before I'm sent on my way. This has to strictly be about making money.

It’s more about covering your arse when prescribing scheduled medications. Expect a piss test at least once a year, both to ensure the drug is in your system, and to make sure no other drugs are in your system.

I've been on the same meds for 12 years. Never refilled early. Never failed a drug test. It's through the same physician network so my history is all there.

How can you possibly focus for that length of time?

So brave!

You most likely don’t even really need the amphetamines so yeah I’d say just wait patiently for your drugs

Probably because the US DOJ cracked the frick down on physicians abusing prescriptions. That said, I think adderall should be sold OTC.

Or you could just drink coffee and focus like a grown man.

Someone tell me about adderall. I’m old and they didn’t have these when I was in school. Maybe I should try them.

It’s state law to be seen every 3 months if you are receiving a schedule 2 drug.

Yes, I know it’s a pain in the butt but important for an objective person, outside of your fam and friends, to gauge you progress. If more docs did a good job of this it possibly could prevent other folks from going off the edge, mentally and emotionally.

I asked if I'd still have to come every 3 months for Strattera and was told yes.

Strattera, however, is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. It is the first ADHD drug that is non addictive
