Bracket

We’ve got:
Santos vs Red Bulls
Tigres vs Houston
Independiente (Panama) vs Sporting KC
Monterrey vs Atlanta United

Sporting KC looked really good in their 5-0 two-leg beatdown of Toluca.

Tough road ahead. I think SKC will advance. I don't see Houston moving forward but Atlanta and RB can.

Hopefully we do better than the last time we had 4 in the quarters.

One of the MLS teams beat a Liga MX team 3-0 in Kansas City and 2-0 in Mexico to get here.

It’ll be interesting.

Sporting KC just dominated a Mexican team over two games in a way we’ve never seen an MLS team do before. (Toronto beat Club America pretty convincingly, but Kansas City embarrassed Toluca to the point where their own fans were booing the players.) Toluca are in turmoil right now, but it was still impressive. Clear sign of the league’s growth. They should have little problem advancing to the semifinals.

The Red Bulls and Atlanta will have their hands full with good Mexican teams, but if they play their best, I see no reason one or both can’t advance. The Red Bulls proved last year they can win in Mexico, and we saw a glimpse last night of what Atlanta can do when they start to gel.

On paper, Houston should be destroyed by Tigres, but I’d give them a 25% of advancing. I think Houston is built for knockout tournaments with their counterattacking style, and Tigres has a history of choking in tournaments to teams they should beat. I don’t think Houston can keep up, but we’ll see. The Dynamo front four can score goals on anyone when they’re playing well.

I believe that SKC can beat the Panamanian club at the very least.

Will be interesting to see how the MLS clubs handle their starting XI for the opening weekend of MLS.

I expect De Boer to let the young guys play. 34 MLS matches on the docket, only two left in CCL.

Bello, Carleton, and Vasquez should be out there with older guys like Larentowicz, Pogba, and Villalba.

SKC looked real good. Toluca is a clusterfrick right now but for SKC to win at Toluca which is over 8,500 ft above sea level is impressive. I couldn't stop laughing when the Toluca supporters were chanting Ole for SKC with every touch at one point when the went down to 10 men

Imagine being so irrelevant in the sporting world that you get kicked out of your stadium for a monster truck rally

I think that was scheduled before Atlanta even qualified for CCL.

Yeah if MB Stadium is smart they will schedule that around those dates to avoid that again if Atlanta were to qualify for champions league next year.

They are constantly changing it.

And who knows if this potential MLS/Liga MX tournament would have any impact on it.

right now its def geared in favor of MLS and Liga MX

I like it. Cut out all the trash in the CCL

but TFC getting a bid as the Canadian champ is wack, bc they fricking suck.
