That and I felt like the game was overly complicated just to be that. The sub menu after sub menu was too much.

They really did improve on that.

The biggest issue with shooter looters like that is you have to balance damage with difficulty.

How would you recommend they do that?

Do you want mobs to react like reality? One shot and they are either dead or writhing in pain?

Now, there is a balance, but it goes both ways.
