If you care about water temp, transom. If not, thru Hull.

Not true. Lowrance PDRT-WSU is the shoot thru with temp sensor.

Thru hulls give you water temp. You're thinking shoot thru hull. Not the same thing.

Thru hull = drill a hole in hull and transducer is flush with bottom of hull and directly exposed to water. Best quality and performance

Shoot thru hull - mounted in the hull and beam shoots through the fiber glass to read water. Not directly exposed to water, and isnt as powerful/clear as a true thru hull
