"I still don't know what she said to start all of this hullabaloo"

Short summary: Terrible actress, can't handle the role, bad previews, tells her principle target audience if they don't like the movie they can shut it. Modus operandi of Disney big budget films the last few years. Now they seem to be shutting down negative comments/reviews. This will be an entertaining goat rope.

I don't either. Nearly all of the google results are either people white knighting for her or her "clarifying" her statements. Best I can tell these are some of her original statements-
quote:

About a year ago, I started paying attention to what my press days looked like and the critics reviewing movies, and noticed it appeared to be overwhelmingly white male. So, I spoke to Dr Stacy Smith at the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, who put together a study to confirm that. Moving forward, I decided to make sure my press days were more inclusive. After speaking with you, the film critic Valerie Complex and a few other women of colour, it sounded like across the board they weren’t getting the same opportunities as others. When I talked to the facilities that weren’t providing it, they all had different excuses.
quote:

don’t need a 40-year-old white dude to tell me what didn’t work about A Wrinkle in Time. It wasn’t made for him! I want to know what it meant to women of color, biracial women, to teen women of color, to teens that are biracial.
So it looks like she didn't like the fact that the press pool was lacking of black women, then asked some "diversity" group to back her up on that, then went as far to insinuate that if you're white and don't like her stuff then you're the problem.

Why these dumb-asses can't just read their lines and answer basic questions with basic answers, I'll never know. It's like they're all in some competition to see who can virtue signal the most.

BTW - this is low-key racism from the left. The idea that people of color need to have their white saviors fight for them is the epitome of "I'm better than you" thought.

She said she'd like to see more than just white men review films targeted at women of color.

Insecure white dudes everywhere lost their shite.
