He received a sponsors exemption and will play the tournament in May. It's being played on his home course in Dallas. It will be interesting to see if he makes the cut.

I'm sure the primary reason they gave him a spot is the tournament is being played the week before the PGA Championship. Tony will bring some fans through the gate.

Yeah it's a shame because that course is awesome. It's different than almost every course they play all year

I know it's all about money for the tournament but he's taking a spot from a guy that's paid his dues.

There's be no money if the tournaments can't put asses in seats and eyes on the screen. The field for this event is going to be pretty poor I expect.

It's going to be no one you've heard of. As DFW wrote this will be a weak field.

He will finish last by several strokes.

Not technically because it's a sponsor's exemption and they get to do whatever they want with it.

CBS is going to absolutely love it though. It's a shame Romo won't make the cut, but at least it will allow Jim Nantz to mention it at the PGA the following week

I thought Tony played most of his golf at Preston Trail?

This tournament isn't handicapped.

So can the 150 actual professionals in the field. He may no finish last because a guy make get off to a bad start and mail it in for the PGA the next week, but I doubt he comes within 5 of the cut.

I have seen his handicap range from +1 to +3... it's not like he is a total scrub that is only getting this for publicity.

He hasn't played great on the biggest stages so far but that doesn't mean he can't play.

Jordan Spieth shot 64 on Friday and 81 on Sunday this past weekend.

It's golf... what can I say.

If it is his home course, he may play better than expected. But I wouldn't expect him to make the cut.
