is probably the most prized GM job to have at the moment

Not if ownership isn't willing to invest.

I'd be thrilled with Griffin or Zarren as team president and allowed to hire GM/coach/etc and run this team like an NBA franchise.

Will Gayle spend on the uncapped side? Will they show enough to entice candidates like Griffin and Zarren to seriously consider New Orleans?

The Pelicans have earned the Benson's nearly a Billion dollars in what? Seven years? The value of the franchise is only going to go up. It would be foolish not to invest in something that gives you those types of returns.

ETA: Also in terms of revenue, The Pelicans brought in $214M in revenue for last season. Operating expense is $29M, Player expenses are $133M. So, while I'm sure there are some other expenses in there somewhere, Gayle made over $50M off of the pelicans last year. Imagine if we were consistently good
