I gave you the answer in the very first reply. And it's really as simple as that.

Why don't all of you obseesed for change for massive upgrades or a brand new arena explain what makes you so miserable for those two hours at the games.

Man you sound like an idiot.

I don't think anyone is obsessed with the idea of upgrades or building a new arena. I also don't think people's issues are with the fan experience, though there are some tweaks that could be helpful on that front. I think people just recognize that to lure and keep top notch coaching talent and players, you have to keep your facilities on the up and up and change with the times. The PMAC is starting to lag behind much of the conference. There's also the fact (or rumor?) that Wade was essentially promised big upgrades to the PMAC when he was hired, and we need to do whatever it takes to keep him happy.

perspective, please. The PMAC is far from a dump.

ETA: And Will Wade has been killing it in recruiting - seems our facilities haven't hurt a bit.

Secondly, is that such a bad thing? We don't need a shite ton of seating.

Yes, when the Tigers are successful they do need all the seting they can get.

Gymnastics is sold out or very close every meet.

So any significant reduction in seating affects revenue.

We need a layout that allows it to be intimidating to opponents and great views for patron

We have that now. Significant reductions will reduce the crowd effect.

Ther are no poor views. No matter the configuration someone will sit low and others will sit in the upper section.

Do you even have any idea what Will Wade requested?

Finally , answer my question and give specifics of what would improve your fan experince, not parroting the same old generalized patter.

Do you?

And why isn't the fact that it's know he requested some changes enough for you not to make this dumbass thread?

Ther are several threads every week demanding upgrades or a nes facility. I am asking for specifics not the same sheple commentary.

If so then what did he request. The man is two years removed from mid major coaching. Do you really think he found the PMAC to be that deplorable. Nothing wrong with some uprgrades, but anything which disrupts the attendance or lowers the capacity would be absurd.

Moving out for a year or two to the River Center while anew arena is built as some have mentioned would be a killer for recruiting basketball or gymnastics.

Any of these " cool " changes to the configuration will result in 20 to 25% reduction in seating. WHY IN THE HELL DO WE WANT TO DO THAT?

Because aside from 2 or 3 home games per season, the PMAC doesn’t need that 20-25% of extra empty seats. Having more amendities with a modern touch would be better for the fans and players. Kind of common sense here dude.

No , but I did not raise the question. if he did, then tell us what he requested. It may be entirely reasonable and not so disruptive as completley changing the PMAC whhich could reduce seating or building a new place which might force playing at a lesser facility for a year or two.

Man, check your work before you hit submit.

But anyway, there are ways to construct seating where the uppers are closest in distance to the court than they are now. Would make it loud af too.

Don't even care. All I know is he wants improvements and jackasses like you are bitching about it on message boards like you matter.

I did, you're just dumb. Better views, get fans closer to the court. Pay attention.

yes, and Rupp is ugly, both inside and out. And it opened in 1976.

Duke plays in a small arena that opened in 1940.

Kansas play in an arena that opened in 1955.

Countless other arenas around the country are old, yet are filled every night.

It's not about the arena, folks. It's about the product on the floor. Will Wade has recruited like gangbusters with our facilities in their current state.

It's ain't about the facilities.

I've always sort of appreciated it's exterior for what it is. It may not be "pretty" but at least it's interesting and not some sort of throwback like contrivance.

If Will WAde is as successful long term the PMAC will be filled for more than three games. I was ther in the he day of Dale Brown and for 15 years the place was well filled . Kind of commmon sense, dude, winning packs them in.

Gymnastics is aways at 90% or better capacity.

Again, give us those specific amentities that you think are needed for those two hours you spend purportedly wtaching and cheeting the Tigers on. I agree concessions are not always great, but that is not a building issue but a management problem.

It was built with an emphasis on seating a whole lot of people and obviously nothing else. It serves it's purpose, I guess.

The Rupp complex broke ground on a $241 million expansion in July of 2018. Here are some renderings.
