We really don't know if they did. A month ago the news was the genie wasn't blue.

There were pictures released with Genie not being blue. Will Smith has said this is a disguise for when he has to blend in with other humans.

Might have something to do with the goose-stepping hyenas.
(that's a quip by the way, it's a great song and if the goose-stepping really is an issue for the new release they can easily do the song and just remove that part).

Finally watched the trailer last night. Will Smith is a really good actor and talented guy that I like. But that’s probably some bad casting there. Also, Jafar seems like a wuss.

I don't understand why they didn't use the same voice actors from the original. They have aged but their voices probably still sound the same.

Jafar is supposed to be tall, thin, and imposing with a deep voice.
From the trailer, he looks to be none of those things.
