I've done this too like making a raft. I line up similar size pieced and alternate pointy end/stem end with about 10 pods and run skewers through them near each end and it makes it easier to grill a bunch of it.

The good thing about okra is it will not fall through most grill grates like asparagus or grilled green beans if not skewered.
