Ive had friends move there and really like it...Ive been...its clean and they actually planned their roads to move traffic.

Congratulations again! Just keep checking back on this thread. There are several dozen who moved from Louisiana to the Dallas suburb who post on here. They will have some great advice.

Man, you are going to be very happy with your decision.

I live here now. With a family, McKinney is going to be very high up there for great places to take your family and raise young children, not just in Texas, but anywhere in America. It's way up there.

Great schools
Clean city
The trashy folks ratio is extremely low


What else do you need to know? Any specifics?



ETA: With the job in McKinney, there's a plethora of other similar towns just as nice as McKinney, or at least in that same realm. Frisco/Plano/Allen.

Your best bet may be to look in the Prosper/Celina area as it's rapidly growing but still in the somewhat early stages(especially Celina) and now would be a good time to buy a home and watch the value likely skyrocket in the next 10-20 years.
