I’m working here now and traffic is horrible. I live 10 min from work and it regularly takes me 30-45 min in the morning and 45-90 min in the evening.

Exactly. These people saying it’s not worse right now clearly do not go to that part of the state very often. It’s 100x worse than WBR going into EBR for sure.

They are doing construction on both bridges. 2-10 is shut completely down at times. When both bridges are open traffic is a non issue except on Nelson and when school lets out.

I don’t see any damn construction outside of 210.

This construction causes the congestion on I10. People reroute to avoid 210.

False. 100% false. It’s only bad right now if you have to use I-10 or 210 to get to/from Sulphur.

As for actually living in the city, Baton Rouge is way way way worse. I can get completely across town in Lake Charles in 10/15 minutes max. It would take me 15 minutes just to go from 30/Nicholson to I-10 on Lee/College in BR. Baton Rouge traffic was bad enough that it’s a place I never want to live in again. Ever.

Go look at the traffic on I-10 eastbound near the LSU lakes. It’s 9:30 and it’s a shite show.

Anyone know how much longer this construction is going to be going on?

Also why the hell can’t they just close lanes late at night to do the work and leave them open during peak hours??

10-15+ years. There's roughly 100+ billion dollars being allocated to the Calcasieu area.

3 words “Florida toll road” convert 190 to a toll road

Seriously though, why is La so against toll roads and by-passes?

Then why does Lake Charles suck so hard still?

It's primarily plant expansions.

So there’s not much improvements to infrastructure and other important public entities such as schools?

I believe part of that is going to widen the bridges or at least 2-10 bridge in anticipation of the increased traffic in the area.

What LC should have done is what they did in Port Arthur years ago. Build a new bridge next to the old one and have one be eastbound and one westbound.

I was thinking the same thing as I crossed the I-10 bridge earlier. But it would immediately funnel from 4 lanes to 2 lanes going into lake Charles.
