Crazy thought: Ubisoft is the #1 AAA developer going right now

Consider recent events:
-Blizzard pimping mobile games to their Diablo hungry fan base who hopefully have phones.
-Activision essentially ruined Destiny 2 and really only has the COD series to lean on.
-Bethesda is killing the massive amounts of goodwill they had with their fans with the Fallout 76 fiasco which seems to get worse and worse with every patch they put out.
-EA...........you know.
-Bioware seems to be in a decent position if Anthem does well, but they are still recovering from ME Andromeda.
-Capcom seems to be doing all right with Monster Hunter World and the RE2 re-release, although they took a big hit with the disaster release of Street Fighter V. But there is a good amount of hype for the next DMC, so we'll see.
-Rockstar and Naughty Dog are pretty consistent with their stuff, but their releases are few and far between (not a complaint).
I'm a self admitted Ubisoft fanboy, so maybe I'm biased, but consider what they've pulled off over the last couple of years:
-The Division released in a bad state, relatively no end game, release graphics looking nothing close to what was shown pre-release, but they stuck it out, kept working through it made the game wroth playing past level 30. I still play it from time to time, and I'm cautiously hype for The Division 2.
-Rainbow Six Seige, again with a rough launch, but the continued support has made it one of the top, if not THE top, online MP shooters.
-They completely revinvented the gameplay for Assassin's Creed and released back to back bangers with Origins and Odyssey.
-Even For Honor, as meh as that game seems to be, is still getting support with new content on a pretty regular basis. It's going to be on of February's free PS+ games.
-With the first Watch Dogs "flopping" and underwhelming (see The Division launch), they came back strong with Watch Dogs 2 and kept the franchise alive, and we probably should hear about Watch Dogs 3 before too long.
-The collaboration they did with Nintendo on Mario + Rabbids was very well received and a really novel concept. Not my cup of tea, but a lot of people like it and we should see another collaboration in the future.
-I've really liked their season pass offerings as of late. I just finished The Hidden Ones on Origins and will try to get to the next one before too long. But another thing they've done is releasing remasters of older games with those packages, Far Cry 3 with the 5 season pass, and Assassin's Creed 3 with Odyssey. Whatever you think about those games, that's a cool offering to get with the rest of the DLC.
I guess there's a side to this where you go "why so many rough launches, learn your lesson", and maybe that's a product of the demand for fast results in profits, forcing a lot of publishers to launch ASAP, but they don't turn their backs on their games and eventually give their fanbase what they want. I hope they keep this up and the next AC offering in 2020 will expand and evolve the series even more.
Considering how Ubisoft had been the proverbial punching bag for so long, it's pretty amazing to see how steady they have been as of late. Could be a result of how much the other's have Forrest Gump'd it as of late, but they are the best thing going currently IMO.
Ubisoft is tops. Change my mind.

How much did Ubisoft pay you to make this thread?

I’ll take few and far between as long as the quality is there like it has been with both companies over cookie cutter video games that some companies mass produce.

I really hope so. Watch Dogs (1) was enjoyable, but needed some work. Watch Dogs 2, while still not perfect by any means, made some serious strides forward. I loved the drone mechanic and think that needs to be expanded even more.
The Watch Dogs series is following a similar path to AC.
The original AC showed potential, and was fun to play, but needed a lot of work in order to be great. Then they came back and completely knocked it out of the park with AC2. WD2 isn't as good as AC2, but hopefully WD3 will be more AC Brotherhood than AC3.

Based on 1 game, pretty much.

CDPR. Witcher series is flawless and Cyberpunk will be great.

It’s true, you know. Year 4 starts in a month or so

I think PUBG Corp has them beat by a hair

They don't release much but when they do it's quality, I'll take that over Ubi's bug ridden shite any day.

My main point with that is they have a relatively small sample size and have pretty much only stuck with 1 franchise. Cyberpunk looks pretty good but lets run down the list of good looking games that were shite after release. We'll wait and see on that.

Agreed. The Tom Clancy games put it over the top for me.
Siege is fantastic. They've done really well rebounding from such an abysmal launch. Siege isnt going anywhere for years to come.
Wildlands is an outlier. Open-world tactical play is fun with a crew but that games vehicle controls are insultingly simplistic.
I'm praying for a new Splinter Cell game announcement this year. I'd even take Blacklist being made backwards compatible. Love that franchise.

They were part of Saints Row 2. Hell I would use the Epic launcher to play Cyberpunk when it comes out.

Totally forgot about this, but agreed, we are waaaaaaaaaaaaay overdue for a Splinter Cell game. I have blacklist on PC and I've played a few hours of it. Great game.

Wildlands online 4v4 is pretty legit too.
