It's certainly arguable whether Orgeron deserves an extension. It's not arguable whether failing to get an extension is used as a negative in recruiting. It 100 percent is.

A negative that is likely pretty far down on the list of negatives used in recruiting.

not Getting an extension less than halfway through your contract isn’t a failure.

It absolutely is. This is why coaches are extended. Whether a coach deserves it may be arguable but the ADs logic in doing so isn't.
