but they say the Arlington is nice.

Who said this? Lol. The Arlington is an absolute shithole. We stayed there a couple summers ago. I 2nd Embassy Suites. If you want to be a little closer to the action, The Waters on the main drag looked really nice & brand new.

McClards: Found the 'Q' unremarkable.  Best was the chicken.  Seasoning rub was OK.  Otherwise, meh.

Phil's Restaurant: Great breakfast joint, daily specials for lunch.  Chicken and Dumplings when we visited.   Probably the world's LARGEST hotcake – beware.  They bring 2!

Jahnas: Really enjoyed this place. Great service, steak was excellent, her veal Marsala was great for her. She loved the crabcake appetizer. Although its yelp rating is 2 dollar signs, should prob be 3. Food was worth the money though.

Things to Do: Not a lot: Anthonys Chapel (Glass Church In The Park) is neat. Mountain Tower Obervatory. Did a Duck Boat tour--OK. Walk the Promenade for exercise. Bring some gallon jugs to fill with Spring water from the downtown fountain. Its pretty good when you chill it.

It is pretty bad right now but they are starting the renovation. It will take years but hopefully it will return to greatness.

The Waters is where you need to stay if you are looking in historic downtown. Completely renovated. Not the Ritz but for Hot Springs, it is perfect. Close to food, bars, trails, etc..

Rolando's, Porterhouse, Belle Arte are good for downtown area. Ohio Club, Maxines and Arlington Bar for drinks
