I have no children and no regrets but you’re gonna get hammered by all the parents who will find fault with your choice. They will proclaim a greater joy and deeper appreciation resulting from all the money and time they’ve spent focusing on their kids. They’ll think they’re better than you because of their “sacrifice” or devotion.

They can’t comprehend that one can be fulfilled- albeit differently- by remaining childless.

Good on them. They found fulfillment and satisfaction on the path they chose. I have too. I just took a different route.

Hey different strokes for different folks. Whatever works for you, you’ll get no judgment from me but don’t assume I think I’m better than you or anyone else.

Same with me. I’m 59, perfectly happy and fulfilled with the way my life has turned out with minimal regrets. I would never want anyone to have to feel they needed to take care of me.

What an odd post considering you have kids.

I agree with you. To each their own. My question is why is it always the people who don't have something starting threads about why it's so great? Sounds like they are missing something in life and don't exactly realize it. Parents, myself included, aren't starting threads claiming they're trying to save lives by encouraging others to have kids.

It's almost funny how op and many others like him in similar threads manage to come across as someone the rest of us think should definitely not have kids.

Point is, if life is so great, why are these people starting threads to tell others how great their situation is for them.

I am glad you are ok with your mental illness. Much like being a trans is a mental illness for going agaisnt basic biology, choosing willingly not to procreate against basic human biology is also a mental illness

I am glad we are finally opening up about this here on tigerdroppings. Its time we no longer bury our heads in the sand as Americans as it relates to mental illness
