Apparently one of her deputies was told to leave because he kept lying and couldn’t follow the rules laid down.
The deputy, a black attorney, kept taking on criminal defendants arrested in EBR, meaning a conflict of interest, lied about doing so and discharging those clients, and refused to track the hours he spent doing private practice.
He submitted his resignation in November, with mid-January as a final date, which coincided with Cole’s push to dump Batson.

Baton Rouge just lost a good Parish Attorney. I have been observing Metro Council meetings for years now, and she always gave sound legal advice to MC at meetings, even before she was appointed PA she gave good advice. And quite frankly I was surprised when Mary Roper got the job over her.

The Parish Attorney's office does not prosecute criminal cases.
