I have begun the process of walking away.

I wrote myself a letter.

No fantasy football next year
No watching of games unless it involves the Saints.

These two things will begin the process.

Then if the Saints have a bad season a few years from now it will be easier to ignore the NFL.

I did this as well.

Yesterday still hurts more than 2011 when I was football obsessed.

i have done that the last 20 years. Only watch saints. that did absolutely ZERO good in walking away. i was attached as much as ever

i agree with the OP though. i am not mad at saints but the NFL. still may be enough to be done altogether. we will see later in year

That was the last 3 years for me. Other happenings in the NFL turned me off. In 3 years, I have literally watched no NFL games that the Saints weren't playing in. That includes playoffs and Super Bowls.

My life is better for it. I tried to walk away but I've just got too damn much Black&Gold blood flowing through these veins. If the Saints ever were to get relocated, it'd be an easy decision to walk.

...but having been a rabid fan since the Bum Phillips days, it's too hard to write this team off, even if for the greater good. All I can say at this point is I'm glad we'll always have SB44 where we defied the odds and took it all... because it's pretty obvious the League isn't going to let us have the opportunity to get another.

Only makes that season even more memorable. And at least while we're still here, we can continue to keep the Falcants out of the playoffs
