it's actually not a different argument. These refs being immune to backlash from the people they directly affect is, in my opinion, part of the reason they fricking suck so bad.

And if they are crooked, this setup enables it. You can be crooked when no one with any clout is allowed to call you on your crookedness.

I also get its a hard job and a lot is asked of them....but its also the NFL's fricking fault for not embracing the technology to take things off their plat. I think that's the most infuriating part of it all. Why does a frick job like this need to happen before you address shite that's been obvious for a while?
