Trump insist on keeping the tariffs on goods Americans buy with an offer like that on the table he should be impeached.
why.

This is the first offer.

He should be impeached if he takes the first offering. This is China, not Sweden. China would cut our throat if given the chance

Do you agree that if they agree to solve the problems outlined in 301 directive that Trump by law has an obligation to remove the imposed tariffs?

Bad Deal
It would be a bad deal if it does not include other aspects such as IP. So it would be a bad conclusion, but it is a good start.

A LOT of this year’s deficit is due to retaliatory tariffs from China killing exports by American citizens wishing to sell their goods to China.

Sorry, but that is not what you've said. You've said tariffs are a bad thing, regardless. When it was pointed out they are temporary, you said tariffs are bad. When confronted with the fact they are a means-to-an-end, a weapon in the trade war as it were, you said tariffs are bad, the trade war is bad, and we should be happy with a longterm completely asymmetric trade landscape.

China would seek to reduce its trade surplus -- which last year stood at $323 billion -- to zero by 2024,

2024. When Trump leaves office and China gets another puppet in the WH.

Then back to business as usual. Trump better get a concrete signed trade deal with automatic tariffs that kick in if China starts reneging after he leaves office.

They don’t act in good faith. They’re trying to just placate him and drag it along

One economy is doing well. One economy is not doing well. How would you expect the US-China balance of trade to look?

Will wait to see if China puts their money where their mouth is. They’ve promised big ag purchases for a few months and have bought a whopping 15 cargoes of beans. Brazil bean harvest also starts in a few weeks.

So, what we're going with now is that the tariffs caused something that in turn made the trade imbalance skyrocket?

I mean, we love to attribute China's weakening economy to trump's trade war here.

This board has chronicled like dozens of instances of China allegedly bending the knee due to these tariffs. Yet they remain in place.

I don't know if they promised big bean purchases. Even the order size was small in the scheme of things. They may not have taken their entire order IDK.

Trinad says we have been shipping mountains of beans to Brazil that are they sold to China implying we have not missed any business.

Yes and all of that is true.

If he continues after this concession it is particularly bad.
