its big business because the potential to pay off huge is there

the only way to stop it would go to a soccer style system where the teams pay for the training but have rights to the players at a younger age

But we don't even do that now with soccer in this country, which is part of the problem

Whats funny is this kid will go through all this and some naturally gifted kid with no professional training will blow right by him.

while parents are spending all of their money on the boy so he can become a better pitcher.. MLB teams are scouting in Cuba for their next big star.

99% of it is a scam and nothing but a money grab.
A vast majority of high school coaches are beyond incompetent and unqualified pushing parents to look at every person that proclaims they are trainers and will develop your child's athletic skills. Maybe 5 - 10% of high school programs know what they are actually doing and can develop athletes.
