Launching out of Shell Beach tomorrow morning, anyone reports out of there recently?

I know it’s not the best time of year to fish but have a friend in town who desperately wants to go

I know this isn't Shell Beach, but one of my neighbors headed out of Hopedale last week and they loaded their limit of reds, but only caught a handful of specks.

He said once they found the reds, they limited in no time.

I plan on heading out there tomorrow morning. How did you do today?

I just checked the weather again and I don't think it will be safe in the AM so I will not be fishing tomorrow. I am still curious to know how you did though.

I was gonna say... I make some questionable decisions and will go if I think I have a 2 hour window. But tomorrrow looks really not good.

If you can deal with the boat traffic, this is prob your best bet.

I get tired of people casting in my boat, so we went to Hopedale yesterday and caught 20 or so trout and a few reds (2 of us).

Water was low and muddy.

Went Wednesday. Launched at Rigolets Marina and ran across to the Biloxi marsh. Water in Lake Borgne looked like chocolate milk. Got deep in the canals where it was marginally better. Caught probably 50 15” redfish, only 2 keepers. Ended up soaking some market bait and yanking out 25-30 nice sized Goatheads to bring some meat home.

How low should the winds be before Shell Beach is fish worthy? I was thinking about going this afternoon but the wind may be too much. It looks like it will be blowing 19 - 22...sheesh. Now that I type that I ain't going in that kind of wind.

You want a southeast wind for hopedale.

A NW or hard West will have you in skinny water.

This map is saying a 10mph WNW wind. How accurate is this?

We went out to the wreck and slayed the reds and sheepshead. It was shallow and foggy early, water was like chocolate milk closer to the river so we went out to the wreck and it cleared
