Absolutely chaos. Millions of dollars in damage to airlines, people stranded etc.

My son is abroad till a week from Saturday. Actually anxious that the government is still going to be functioning at a reasonable enough level that he can return.

I'm for private security again but it's not a solution here.

1. Air travel existed before TSA workers. 2. Avg salary for TSA is 28K. My garbage man makes more. 3. I think they can be replaced with about 10 minutes of training.

Question: How long do you think it would take (ballpark) to write a contract of that scale (even for one airport), solicit it, have potential security firms craft their bid proposals, make an evaluation of technical acceptance for each bid, award to the winner, and have that winner hire and train the staff to begin work?

When the Black Caucus sends reps to talk to the TSA black workers they will start to walk.....

But then my Furhr will pull a Reagan act by firing them and hiring new white workers..

Chuck Schumer at every chess move..

Trump should go the Reagan route with this.

This is probably right. Reagan made an example by banning the air traffic controllers from future gov work for life.

So how long can you ask a worker making a very low wage to work for free before you acknowledge that they will have to quit and find new employment?

The TSA workers didn’t go on strike, so this is nothing like the Reagan example. That was a labor dispute and they attempted to strike as a bargaining chip.

This is low paid employees being forced into unpaid labor of indefinite duration.

Nah. It wouldn’t. The below is a uTube link to the current value of most TSA employees:

This is about the level of argument I expect for your position.

No he didn’t. He fired air traffic controllers that were striking over a labor negotiation. They were choosing not to work as a negotiating tactic. That is an apples to orangutans comparison.

I really wish that TSA workers would strike. And pilots and attendants join them for one day at least.

McConnell needs to let the bills the House passed (that the Senate passed, in similar form, back in December) come up for a vote in the Senate. They would pass easily if they can be voted on. But Mitch is, as usual, covering for Trump's incompetence and petulance.

Government needs to be reopened ASAP.

There is no “argument.”

Real Americans are correct, you are wrong. Would you like to compare visa stamps and foreign languages spoken? Perhaps a spelling contest?

Poor lil fella you are.

The GOP will attempt to pass a bill restoring it. The Dems will vote it down. Trumo can declare an emergency, get the wall started, and shut down / privatize TSA.

OK geaux88, let’s see if you can string a few sentences together to explain your position on this issue without the use of Southpark clips or off-topic blathering.

I’d like you to explain why the TSA workers are to blame for any of this, why Reagan’s 1981 actions apply to this scenario, or how you would quickly replace TSA capability so as not to interrupt air travel if they did do away with TSA. Let’s hear it smart guy.

I’m actually asking for your position on the discussion, because thus far you aren’t really elaborating.

I’m just giving you options from the thread, big guy. I picked everything discussed that it seemed you might have an opinion on. I realize your contributions have been exceptionally poor, I’m only trying to give you writing prompts.
