I guess the folks in Zachary don't see this as a tremendous hit and only a slight downturn in housing and market will readjust.

BASF employees have been offered jobs by Exxon, mainly in Louisiana and 10 jobs in TX. They will have to commute but many people in Zachary already commute.

Thompson Pipe all offered jobs in TX and some have already moved away. Some want to stay in the area and actively looking. I guess once they hear from their buddies in TX they will be packing up as well. But there is a strong desire to stay in Zachary and Louisiana.

GP employees looking at other jobs but noted only half live in Zachary and the other half already commute.

The Tax situation in a year will be the biggest issue for the school system.

The other issue for all of EBR is the flood bubble ending. Plus, interest rates rising. There was already a softness in the local housing market due to those two things.
