For anyone that has ever owned a Sig P229, give me your thoughts/experience with this handgun..
Thanks in advance...

I have a 229 legion in 357sig. Overall it's an extremely nice gun. It shoots great, has been perfectly reliable. The sights, trigger, ergonomics, everything about it are great from a functional standpoint.
The finish on it however is not so great. I carry mine daily and I have to pull the side plates off and clean the decocker lever and other controls or they will rust. For a $1000+ pistol that's a letdown. It's not a big deal but it does suck.
Overall I love the thing. Is it worth what it costs? Probably not, it goes bang just like a glock goes bang. It is a very nice gun that is well put together and easy to shoot and carry though. Doing it again I'd probably make the same purchase, except maybe get a 226 instead since the 229 is pretty big already.

I have 2 p226 but not a p229. I love both of the 226s and wouldn't mind getting another 226 or 229

I have P228 in 9 mm that I bought from Barneys Police Supply in 2010 as a State Police trade-in for ~$400 (as I recall). I love it

I have a P226 and P229. Both are in 9mm and are great guns and go bang every time I pull the trigger. Both are very accurate but I tend to shoot the P229 a little better.

I’ve got a p229 40. It’s a fine pistol. The DA/SA was a huge selling point for me. I wish all of my pistols were DA/SA.
I’ll also add that I am not a fan of the Glock. I may buy one eventually, but I just can’t see myself buying anything but a Sig for the foreseeable future.

I have a late 1990s vintage P229 in .40 ACP. Great gun. Great quality. Great shooter.
After having owned a Glock 23 and shooting them side by side awhile, I decided to get out of the plastic gun game and go all metal classic Sigs of which I was already a fan. I'm probably going to get a P229 in 9mm at some point in the next 2 or 3 years. I have a P226, P220 and P245 as well.

I have one in .40 and bought the .357Sig barrel for it.
Its a great gun and one of my best shooters.
ETA: shot all types of ammo through it and haven’t had a lock of trouble.

Uncle Sam trained on p226 9mm, currently belt holster carry Glock 22 40 daily, have a s&w shield 40 that I never carry, still in love with my p229 40. Hogue grips make it amazing. Only regret is not getting one with a rail.
