Deculus is all power with no feet. He has no kickslide to set an edge in pass pro which is why he’s constantly getting false starts because he’s trying to gain an edge on the snap to beat his man. Put him inside at gaurd and I bet he’s an animal.?

They were easily the 2 best OLinemen this year, not to say they were amazing, but clearly much better than the others. Cushenberry has almost no competition for center spot really.

I mean Yeah but It’s not like they’re LTs.

I think Charles would be a better RG than Lewis.

Neither Cush or Lewis blew me away, and Cush didn’t exactly shine from the mental point playing center. We couldn’t pick up blitzes to save our lives.

I've been called a player basher most of this season for what's being discussed as a normal conversation on the future of the offensive line.

Lewis is better than you're giving him credit for, there's a reason he made "i'm staying" announcement. He's NFL caliber, just not an early round pick at all.

Lewis is a fine player but Charles has more talent. He just needs to find what position is best for him.

Fully agree. We gotta get some men to step up so deculus can go to guard

Every player who’s staying made an In staying announcement.

It’s fun and exciting but is Lewis NFL caliber? Like we were dominant running the ball behind him either.

This is false, more than a handful of guys who were technically eligible for NFL draft did not make announcements at all including but not limited to:

Sullivan, Anderson, Magee, Lanard, Logan, Giles, Dillion, Cushenberry, etc...

Yes, he was thinking about going pro all season and getting feedback on it, he can make a roster for sure. Again, just not going to be a early round pick at all. He is the strongest player on the team.

There's 5 guys on an OL.

I just Don’t think he’s that good.

You’re saying he got feedback on the NFL and chose to stay

Clearly that’s kinda a sign that the feedback wasn’t good

We will actually have a good oline next season. A lot of our linemen were first time starters in the sec or college football in general. Experience means alot, and the added talent.

No, BEN!

You have been called a player basher most of this season bc you post that "NONE OF THE PLAYERS ON THE OL HAVE TALENT...NO TALENT AT ALL".

That is different than saying a player should be moved from tackle to guard, etc.

He spoke about changing his position and dominating. Can you really not see the difference in this and saying "NO TALENT, PLEASE NAME THE TALENT"

No stew. Asking you to name the talent along the line after you just claimed how talented they were is not the same as saying that they have no talent. The conversation went round and round because of people were determined not to admit the truth. The conversations I had weren't much worse than what's being discussed here.

As has been stated in this thread already, the only certainty is:

C: Cushenberry
RG: Lewis

After that you have:

- Charles - He is a good player, but just not a tackle. He is just not athletic enough to face premiere pass rushers
- Deculus - He is just like Charles except bigger and even less athleticism. I don't know how he was ever considered a tackle. Even in the UA All American game he was consistently getting beat around the edge.
- Traore - Not even sure he will be on the roster come this time next year. Was brought here to fix a huge problem at tackle and was way worse than expected.
- Hines - Quality player at Guard. Only problem is that we have plenty of guys who could play guard well.
- Rosenthal - Pretty much the key to the whole thing. He HAS to develop into a good tackle or it will be a repeat of last year.
- Thomas - Looks like he will make a great guard, but needs to lose weight first.
- Ingram??? - Was always a good run blocker, but never a good pass blocker. He is a guard. We also have no clue what kind of shape he is in.

So in summation, I think you are going to be looking at this next year:

LT: Charles
LG: Ingram or Hines
C: Cushenberry
RG: Lewis
RT: Deculus

But the ideal situation is that we get this:

LT: Rosenthal
LG: Ingram or Hines
C: Cushenberry
RG: Lewis
RT: Charles

Worst case scenario, we are just as good/bad next year as we were this year, but now we have more depth, more experience, another year of offseason training to improve.

Don't forget Wire. He's supposed to be strong and athletic.

If you noticed in the Mississippi State and Alabama game our center was pushed back on many plays. But we were playing top talent in those games.

The only thing that we can hope for is Cush gaining power through the strength and conditioning program.

Lewis will be great next year. He is faster than people think.... cush is good and experience but prob the least deserving of the start talent wise. Imo would live to see q more dominant center but 100 live cush and am happy with him starting, but his talent is not the same as anyone on the team in the 2 deep imo. He knows the playbook though he knows the calls so he is more then likely the number 1 center. He goes down for a game or during spring ball he may not get it back.
