What’s the draw to an all-inclusive? Why on earth would you want that?

I don't get the appeal either. (Unless there's some AI with stupendously incredibly food somewhere.)

Don't really care to hear about your confusion about all inclusive resorts. I started the thread to get information about good all inclusive resorts. Thanks.

Some have alternative preferences to others. Don't see reason to hijack the thread.

We had a good time at Barcelo Aruba. We are staying at Iberostar Grand Rose Hall in Jamaica for our honeymoon in a couple of months and I've read nothing but good reviews

I've done Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall, Breathless Riveria Maya, and Hard Rock in Punta Cana. Hard Rock was nice, but it was too big and there were childrean. Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall was my favorite.
Heading to Secrets Los Cabos for a long weekend next week.

Yeah, I've been there too. Food was really good.

Did you happen to get a massage at the spa? I can't find any prices and trying to be prepared lol
OP - sorry to hijack the thread but it may be helpful if you choose the Iberostar!

Wife and I are frequent travelers and we’ve come to realize that all trips have a shelf life. Any trip we take we max out at ~14 days, that includes multiple trips to Asia and Europe. Even if we love the place, at the close of week 2 we are ready to go home.
All inclusive have a short shelf life for us, 3 days and done. That is the absolute max we can handle. Relaxation turns to boredom quickly.
We try to do a 5 day Colorado trip, 3 day Cancun relaxation trip and one big two week adventure every year.

I’m planning a week trip to Roatan now, bought the airfare, and I’m worried it’ll be too long. My friends are all divers, and I think getting certified may be my only hope to stay sane.
I could road trip Europe indefinitely I think. Stay 3 days in each area then move on.
Y’all should do the eastern Sierras instead of Colorado one year. The mountain to desert contrast is unreal, and both Mammoth and LT are a blast to explore.

Roatan is awesome. Why do you think a week could be too long?

Because I can’t sit still. I’m more of the hiking or climbing type. Better yet I usually just hike the climber trails. Every rock face with a guide book has a trail down somewhere...and it’s usually the most fun thing to do.
I just need to research it. The other 4 fellas are all oceanographers, and they go out on ships for months at a time, I’d go insane. I have a feeling they’ll dive every morning and chill the rest of the day. Maybe I can get a week long motorcycle rental.

Ah ok...
Roatan is definitely not popular for mountain hiking

Literally do not care what you and your wife do or your vacations shelf life. Go somewhere else and post about your world travels.
