Police: Chicago Woman with Concealed Carry Permit Shoots Robber Dead
quote:
a 25-year-old woman with a concealed carry permit shot and killed a robber on Chicago’s South Side on Tuesday morning
And this is how it's done; short, sweet & concise:
quote:
CBS Local reports that the woman was “standing on the corner on the 500 block of West 103rd Street around 5:45 a.m.” when a 19-year-old male approached. Police indicate the male “pulled out a weapon” and let the woman know he was robbing her.
She responded by shooting him in the neck

The most impressive thing is that she was able to get a concealed carry permit in Chicago.

My daughter and SIL live about 30 minutes west of Chicago and they told me some laws are changing up there to make it less gun restrictive......I can't independently confirm which laws tho

Thought you were gong to say only 100 people got shot this week. Down 50%.

That's how to reform a criminal.

It's a start!
Also running it on the news gets the word out that citizens may be armed as well and a potential fight is on a would-be criminals hands.

great story! with all the doom & gloom we see in the media everyday, it's nice to see a story that has a happy ending!

I doubt this. Illinios is trying to pass a bill that Rauner struck down. Of course now that he is gone, Pritzker and Dems are trying to go back after it.

However, there are many cities and counties here in Illinois, such as Effingham, who have declared themselves "Gun Sanctuaries"
You'll have to look into the proposed bill to see exactly what is in it, but it will hurt individual sales and small firearm dealers. My BIL is a dealer and he might stop his business.
It's ridiculous too that they want further background checks when we all are required to have a FOID anyways.

Good for her. The sad part of this story is that it takes a piece of paper to make this all legal for her. If a guy walks up and produces a weapon with the threat to rob you, a piece of paper shouldn't be needed by you to give you legal permission to defend yourself.

Crime like this will only end when criminals think that their chances of meeting resistance are too high. Every adult citizen should be armed.
