How long until this team is fully Ed O's responsibility? How much total time does the new hire need? How many recruiting classes do they need?
The responsibility has always been his. But time was needed to fully fix things. I’ve said since he was hired, year 3 is when you can really start to examine what you are in for.
Look at the depth on this team now at LB, at WR. As bad as our OL was this year, there is a lot to look forward to In terms of options. The DL will have more players to rotate next year.
Playing a lot of young players with short depth is hard. LSU has navigated that well & next year looks super promising

Did you not see Lawrence at clemsons own 4 yardline under center and then run a playaction when no one respects their run game?
I saw them at the 4 and I believe the 2 and didn't go under center with playaction

Think its about fixing your scheme
Clemson changed their offensive scheme since last season?
It looks like even their scheme can be shut down by bama...unless they have an incredible QB.

No, not what I said
read again
But I'll agree with you, LSU scheme/playcalling is good, just needs Incredible talent (all sec, all American, NFL talent) to be productive. LSU has no talent, poor coaches

I'm just curious why all the posters saying scheme is why Clemson scores on bama won't answer if Clemson changed their scheme this year after getting shut down last year
No one said 2018 clemson isnt more talented than 2017 clemson. My god.
2018 clemson is in no way as talented ad 2018 bama yet their scheme allowed them beat a more talented team.
Who knew scheme was important and could help less talented teams beat more takented teams?
You did when you were shitting on miles scheme. The scheme more productive than 2018 scheme.
Its amazing watching you football ignorant posters go from" scheme is holding us back" to" scheme? frick that. Its all about talent"

Everyone can have a bad game. Clemson almost lost to Syracuse this year. Is Syracuse better than Bama?
No one here (or atleast me :lo: ) expects LSU to beat Bama every year. But they have won 7 straight and we aren’t hanging anything. Is it too much to ask to atleast score against them at home?

Ben, Clemson's offense vs ours is the point of the entire thread. A similarly talented line (by recruiting rankings) was made to look spectacular because of Clemson's scheme. They got the ball out quick because you CANNOT line up under center and go toe to toe with Alabama's defense.
We're one of the few teams that still try to do it, and when it fails, you guys blame the OL instead of the entire damn scheme
My point was and still is that bamas line did not dominate the line of scrimmage and they didn't. Rick had to come into the thread lying in order to make a point about scheme as opposed to talent. You took up the scheme banner and you're helping perpetuate Rick's myth.

This is more bullshite. Everyone was frustrated with the play action called from the endzone especially during the bama game.
Play action still has it's place in football but there's a right time and s wrong time to call it.

but it didn't work last year. apparently clemsons scheme works against bama when they have a heisman caliber qb

Yeah a 28 point margin.
There wasn't anyone on the field more talented than Lawrence. Ross was clearly more "talented" than Alabamas Dbacks.

Fair enough...2019 is the year then.
And I agree with the rest.

The permenantly negative love hyperbole and in many cases, downright lying.
You have to get them to link it, which they never can

Again, who is saying clemson is not talented?
What they arent is more talented than bama. That amazing line of clemson doesnt have single draft grade player.
Bama has more players with a draft grade in their front 7 than clemson's entire roster.
Scheme allows the qb time and ability to execute. At no point is anyone insinuating that you could take Jordan Jefferson and put him in Clemson's scheme and beat bama.
Its amazing how much scheme bothered you until someone else was HC.

SE scheme hasn't worked in 2 tries and scored a 0 points. Is scheme/playcalling a problem? Far less talented teams have had more success against bama than LSU, why?

Will LSU's? just need that Heisman caliber true freshman

You think troy was more talented than lsu in 2017. Pardon me if i wipe my arse with your scouting reports.

Their mental gymnastics (very small balance beam) to twist something to the negative is bizarre.
